This describes what Alpha Match collects, why it is collected, who can see it, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read rather than to be survived, and where a promise here is absolute it is enforced in the software rather than left to good intentions.
Before the app is out, the only thing this site collects is an email address you typed into the early-access box, the date you sent it, and the two-letter country code your browser's connection already tells us. No IP address is stored, and nothing is shared with anyone. We use it to send you one message — the link, when it opens where you are — and then nothing further. Ask us at privacy@alphamatch.app and we will delete it the same week.
The selfie you take during verification produces an encrypted template. It cannot be reversed into a photograph of you. It is never shown on your profile, never given to another member, and never used to advertise to you. Where an outside identity provider performs the check, they receive the image for that purpose and are not permitted to keep it for their own.
Two things in particular:
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. We use a small number of processors to run the service — cloud hosting, chat delivery, message and image safety scanning, subscription management, crash reporting, identity verification. Each may handle your data only to provide their part of the service, and only under contract. We will also disclose data where the law requires it, or where somebody's safety depends on it.
Your profile lives as long as your account does. When you delete your account there is a thirty-day grace period, during which you can change your mind; after that your profile, photographs and messages are deleted. Records we are obliged to keep — a report of harm, a payment record, a block — are kept for as long as the law requires and no longer.
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. In the UK and the EU those are rights under the UK GDPR and the GDPR; in California, under the CCPA. Deleting is built into the app, under Settings. For anything else, write to privacy@alphamatch.app and we will answer within thirty days.
Alpha Match is for adults. Age is estimated during verification and accounts that are not 18 or over are refused. If you believe a minor has an account, tell us at safety@alphamatch.app and we will act the same day.
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect, not afterwards.
